Banila Co Miss Flower & Mr Honey Cream

Banila Co Miss Flower & Mr Honey CreamYou know I realized when going through my excessive collection and shopping my stash so to speak that I haven't reviewed a single cream. I figured I might as well finish up some cream drafts because they not only dominate my collection... I have three on my wishlist. Yeah... Really. I'm sort of a cream hoarder. I use them all on a loose rotation. I've had products  expire in my time but never a cream. I think everyone has read about this cream plenty... shout out to my not-quite-skin-twin and check out her review at the well known Fifty Shades of Snail for comparison.
Spolier alert: better than the Hydrogel masks of the line but...
Banila Co Miss Flower & Mr Honey Cream
According to Memebox:

What it is

This highly nourishing yet non-sticky honey cream with three types of honey compounds (propolis, royal jelly and honey) instantly melts into the skin and recharges distressed skin with supreme nourishment while improving skin's resilience and moisture-rentention ability.

My take on  this?
OK I'm spoiling the entire review early but... I know this is copy written to sell the product but I think it's an exaggeration. If you want to increase resilience in a super charged way check out SnowBang from Holy Snails reviewed here.. To instantly recharge my skin I reach for Manyo Factory Ultra Moist Spa Ampoule reviewed here. For a moisture surge I like Dear By Enprani Moistful Booskin and Hado Labo Premium Lotion (reviews coming... I swear.)

How to use

Using the provided spatula, apply generously over your entire face after toner/moisturizer. Tip: use honey cream as a base substitution in the morning to achieve long lasting sleek and dewy complexion for all day. Apply generously in multiple layers to use as a sleeping pack at night.
My take on  this?
Actually I love the tip about using it as a sleeping pack at night. I rarely use this as a cream on it's own. It has a nice occlusive touch.

Note: Avoid this product if you are sensitive to anything on the ingredient list... I'm not so I'm free to enjoy.
My take on  this?
I love Niacinamide, Honey, Meadowfoam Seed Oil, Propolis, Shea Butter (Butyrospermum Parkii,) Adenosine, and maybe I'm weird but I like Glycerin in my products too. Its a nice humectant.
So how does it preform?
OK I'm going to break this down into pros and cons I think. That's a first for me but there's a reason my moisturizer reviews all languish in drafts. I just don't know how to gauge what means the most to me from a moisturizer. As I said above I think the claims are a little out there sometimes... I mean what can I really ask from a moisturizer aside from well... adding moisture to my skin?
  • It smells amazing. I wouldn't call the scent super strong in a lingers eternally way. I have used raw honey for both skincare and well... food. I wouldn't say this smells exactly like honey. It's artificial but not in a way that screams artificial and makes me hate it. A great example (ok maybe not...) but to me is watermelon. I love watermelon in all ways (please if you know of watermelon skincare items... send them my way... and no sadly the L'Herboflore watermelon masks do NOT smell of fresh cut watermelon,) but 9/10 times I hate artificially flavored watermelon items. Poprocks and Warheads win an exception here. This product smells like something that makes you think of honey rather than straight honey. It's more pleasant than straight honey in my opinion. If honey were one of my top favorite scents this would rank even higher on the pro's list. Find me a milk scented product to layer with this and I might not be able to live without the combo...
  • It's a nice occlusive. I said above I mainly use it at a sleeping pack style option. I looked up the product description to add to my notes from review and was pleasantly surprised to see that listed as an suggestion.
  • It works. I mean if you're going from no moisturizer to adding this you will see a visible difference.
  • A little goes a long way. I don't feel the need to slather massive amounts of this product on for it to work. This is good because... well see the con's list.
  • It has some killer ingredients
  • Its comes with a spatula. Unlike most people I don't lose them. I keep them... I sanitize them and wash them between uses. The more the merrier!
Banila Co Miss Flower & Mr Honey Cream
So I normally use spatulas buts I took this photo op from scraping the sides of an "empty " jar. This seriously is more than enough for face and neck...
  • It...just works. It doesn't blow my mind aside from enjoying the scent. I like the scent of Illi's Anti Aging Cleansing Oil and the Skinfood Black Bean Sheet Mask 1000X more and that's just listing two options. granted neither are moisturizers.
  • It's expensive. $42 for 50ml isn't super budget friendly for making a leap. I got my start trying this by buying a decant. I've also sold decants of this product myself so others can do the same. Granted a little goes a long way but... it's a big investment.
  • It has a bunch of potential triggers. COSDNA isn't infallible and I am not sensitive to anything in this product so... there you go.
  • Kind of repeating my first con but the killer ingredients are a little wasted. A cream's function in a routine isn't really to work grand magic on the skin. I reserve that for essences and serum type products that allow the stars to flourish at full potency.
  • The packaging is bulky. It's cool looking... see my Instagram opportunity regret below... but seriously the jar is 3x the size it needs to be for the product it contains.

The honeycomb look is cool but really not space saving... I would actually find the price more justified if it came in a Beauty of Joseon cream style glass jar. Ohh... maybe in  a nice honey shade?
I give this product a 3.5/5. If it were in the $25-$30 range it would have more stars for me. Please remember I'm a little hard on creams. I've only had a cream totally transform my life once and that was in a very specific skin damage related situation. I'm still looking for my one true love. I've repurchased this cream.  I don't regret purchasing it. I don't regret repurchasing it... My biggest regret is perhaps not keeping my empties because I saw an awesome honeycomb on instagram made out of the jars.... Still when I run out of this product it's going to take a back seat. I won't be buying more for some time to come... because I Want to see other creams. It's been good enough to me to wiggle it's way into into my rotation regularly over the past year. It's just... not love.
1- I want both my money and the time I spent using this product back. It should never be used and if I encounter another in my collection it goes to the trash bin.
2- The product is nothing special but not horrible. I would use it again or give it away if I got it as a free sample.
3-The product is nice enough but I would not repurchase because I have many better options. May be better suited for others
4-I really like this and would likely repurchase if I do not find something better.
5-I love this product and it has become a staple in my collection.
So now you know what the numbers mean!

Where can you find it?
Well like I said I'm cheap so I recommend starting with a sample size if you can find one... check out r/Asianbeautyexchange on reddit... but if you want to spring for full sized I get mine from Memebox.

I probably use Instagram the most also CanIPutItOnMyFace… that’s funny to me because I had to be convinced to even download the application and then spend three years not using it. What can I say? I’ve turned into a sheet mask exhibitionist…
