My Beauty Diary Horse Oil Mask Review

My Beauty Diary Horse Oil Mask Oh yeah I said horse oil and I meant it... You know I really love My Beauty Diary Masks. with all the masks I've tried I can't say I've gone more than a week without pulling one out of my stash. But I don't write about them? Why? I don't know man... maybe the same reason I have a growing pile of Benton, My Scheming, COSRX, and Banila Co reviews piling up in my drafts. I feel like it's all been said. Some people even say all My Beauty Diary Masks are the same. While they are all similar after using them for years and hunting elusive "flavors" truffle you will be mine some day... I can vouch for clear differences. Some are minor and in the case of this masks sometimes the difference is HUGE. Are you ready? I'm ready!
My Beauty Diary Horse Oil Mask Now I borrowed the English ingredients list from Beautibi.com
Water(Aqua), Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Propylene Glycol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Ammonium Acryloylddmethyltaurate/vp Copolymer, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Triethanolamine, Laminaria Digitata Extract, Gentiana Lutea Root Extract, Arnica Montana Flower Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Polysorbate 20, Citric Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrozyethl Urea, Hydrolyzed JoJoba Esters, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Glyceryl Glucoside, Codium Tomentosum Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Bark/Leaf/Twig Extract, Hibiscus Sabdariffa FLower Extract, Hemerocallis Fulva, Flower Extract, Algae Extract, Hydrolyzed Rice Extract, Persea Gratissima (Avacado) Oil, Lecithin, Polysorbate 80, Polyglutamic Acid, Lactorbacillus/Royal Jelly Ferment Filtrate, Carbomer, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Xanthan Gum , Fragrance (Pargum), Horse Fat, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Lactate, Sodium PCA, GLYCOSPHINGOLIPIDS, Sea Water, Tocopheryl Acetate
Then I added them to COSDNA!  Check it out for triggers. If you are sensitive to Butylene glycol then like many sheet masks this one is out. If you are opposed to horse oil products for moral or any other reason skip this one too. It really does have horse fat in it.
So let's say you aren't afraid of horse fat. I love horse fat on my skin AND it has Licorice root extract in there. Guys you have no idea how long I waited to try this one.
So how does it work?
Well after you cleanse your face you carefully open the package instead of ripping it open like a kid on Christmas to avoid tearing the mask. With some masks I prep my face with a hydrating toner but this mask has tons of essence. I just squeeze out the extra essence and layer it on my face before applying. This extends the life of the masks and prevents waste. Leftovers are gifted to my neck and chest area.

Then you just do whatever your normal sheet masks routine entails. For some this means watching some Netflix, laying down, reading a book, or... wearing a silicone mask cover a to keep it in place while running errands around the house. To each their own... The directions say to leave on for 20-30 minutes. I got around an hour out of this mask with NO mask cover.

The essence was a little more... slippery than I'm used to with a MBD mask. I was a little afraid it might leave a greasy residue. It didn't. I was able to pat in the remaining essence in just a few minutes post removal. I followed up with the rest of my routine to seal in that moisture as instructed and I was rewarded with glowing plump skin the next day despite my two hours of sleep (yeah I see a trend forming.)
I kind of balked at the price $22 for a box of 8 at Beautibi or $3.25 for a single but I HAD to try it. Honestly I think it really is higher quality than other masks by the brand.
Would I buy it again? UM... If the price dropped. Standard masks can be had for $15 (or less on sale,) for a box of 10. This box only contains 8 for $22 and a single is $3.25. I would spend $15 on a boy of 8. $18 even... but $22? I can order some super fancy masks for that price point. so for the rating they do lose points for the price. 3.5/5. If they were more affordable (And more accessible... seriously so few places even carry them!) They might just make 5/5... because like all masks by this brand they deliver on their promises.
UPDATE

I got mine from Beautibi the first time I tried them (currently listed as on sale as of 10/21)

and from Mochi Beauté (25% off sale till Monday 10/24 with code GLITTER25)
1- I want both my money and the time I spent using this product back. It should never be used and if I encounter another in my collection it goes to the trash bin.
2- The product is nothing special but not horrible. I would use it again or give it away if I got it as a free sample.
3-The product is nice enough but I would not repurchase because I have many better options. May be better suited for others
4-I really like this and would likely repurchase if I do not find something better.
5-I love this product and it has become a staple in my collection.
So now you know what the numbers mean!
