OSTIA Peptide Filler Neck & Mask Whitening Review Time!

This mask is cool right? I mean what else can I say? I'm attracted to the image of the syringe on the package. Don't worry guys no real needles involved here. Anyway I had no idea what this mask was or where it came from. I googled it and even that took a bit too track down... I mean I'll put almost anything on my face but some weird counterfeit skincare can have scary stuff in it. Well it turns out that this mask is actually made by Club Clio, a perfectly reputable company. With that knowledge under my belt I felt safe that I wouldn't burn my face off and I slapped this mask right on!OSTIA Peptide Filler Neck & Mask Whitening  But there isn't a lot of English but there are pictures. This is a two piece mask but in a difference way than I'm used to seeing. See the face part is one whole piece and then the second piece is a wrap for your neck. Hence Mask & Neck!
OSTIA Peptide Filler Neck & Mask Whitening
I turned to google again because my vision is horrible and after the pictorial in lieu of instructions I foolishly assumed there was no translation of the ingredients. That was a silly thought because Club Clio has a physical store in NYC so OF COURSE there was English. Just... very tiny... and not on the website. So guess what I did guys? (Oh and I totally did this AFTER using the mask BTW...) I typed them all out so anyone who wanted to see them bigger could read them. Then I added it to COSDNA! Gold Star for me man. Now with all this effort I'm putting into writing about this mask you know it's either going to be AMAZING or terrible because I only get motivated when I'm in soapbox mode.
Let's look at what that tiny writing saysWater, glycerin, diprophylene glycol, hydrogenated polydecene, niacinamide, plankton extract, hydrolyzed collagen, donkey milk, sanguisorba officinalis root extract, Centella Asiatica Extract,Vaccinium Angustifolium (Blueberry) Fruit Extract, Phellinus Linteus Extract, Inotus Obliquus (Mushroom) Extract, Acanthropanax Senticosus (Eleuthero) Root Extract, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Seed Extract, Acorus Gramineus Root/Stem Extract, Perilla Ocymoides Leaf Extract, Glyceryl Stearate, Ployglyceryl-3 MethylglucoseDistearate, Ploysorbate 60, Cetearyl Alcohol, Calcium Panthothenate, Sodium AscorbiylPhosphate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Pyridoxine HCL, <altodextrin, SodiumStarch Octenylsuccinate, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Limsnyhrd Slbs (Meadowfoam) Sed Oil, CamelliaSinesis Leaf EXtract, Pyrus Pyrifolia (Pear) Fruit Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Panthenol, Dimethicone, Sodium Polyacrylate, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Laureth-7, TEA-Stearate, PEG-32, Adenosine, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Ethythexylglycerin, Glyceryl Caprylate, Fragrance, Chlorophenesin, DisodiumEDTA, Titanium Dioxide, Silica, Polymethylsilsequioxane
*NOTE: first time ever asking this kind of thing but if you happen to borrow my ingredients list for your own review please credit me. I have terrible vision and this took a really long time man.
Anyway here's the COSDNA results. With that crazy long list the only flags were for Cetearyl Alcohol and Dimethicone. Steer clear if you are sensitive to either of those or anything else on the list.
What has me excited? Well I LOVE Niacinamide and Donkey Milk but COSDNA translated some of the terms I didn't recognize and do you know what a lot of them are... just guess... oh you probably already clicked the link huh? MUSHROOM. There are 14 kinds of freaking mushroom extracts in this mask. I'm floored. I want to buy a bottle of the freaking essence ASAP. Speaking of the essense let's move on to usage eh?  OSTIA Peptide Filler Neck & Mask Whitening  It doesn't look as super cool on my face but it feels really nice... I took off the neck piece. I'm sorry. I don't wear scarves or turtlenecks. Even crew neck shirts make me feel suffocated. But I did use it a little and made sure to rub lots of the essence on my face.
The essence is a milky essence. That isn't everyone's cup of tea but it is mine. Oh and this essence is PLENTIFUL. It should be called the Neck, Mask, Chest, and arm, peptide filler whitening miracle pack.
The mask smelled vaguely lotion-y I guess in a sort of unscented lotion way. I didn't notice a scent once the mask was actually on my face. I had to sniff it and think about it for the sake of review to even detect a scent. There are fragrances on the ingredients list but I think they are more to cover the less than pleasant "natural" smells than create an aromatherapy experience.
The material is also super nice. Thick but not stiff at all. I had no problems with slippage. I didn't need a mask cover to keep it on my face while moving about. For the short duration of my neck piece use it actually stayed put just fine too. I got around an hour out of it. I could have gone longer but... I was hungry. Sue me.
What promises did this mask offer me?
Actually the claims weren't that outrageous. Whitening and hydration in a single pouch. It didn't promise to make me 21 again (and man if a mask ever sent me back to that age I would SUE the company not celebrate,) or make me into a model. Club Clio offers some helpful suggestions for usage of this mask. Hydration reduces the appearance of wrinkles and protects your skin against the stress of winter. They said using it at night would protect your skin for the next day. The page also stresses that caring for your neck is important too... (I'm sorry... I'll leave the neck piece on longer next time guys I almost forgot to even get a photo.)
What were my results?
Well I pretty much dove into slapping this on my face once I found it it was from a known "safe" company. So reading the suggestions for use and the intended effects after the fact is a feeling in the same family as deja vu. One of the reasons I slapped this mask on with little forethought was that I had been crying. A lot. For days. My HG skincare products (yeah the ones that keep popping up on the blog lately...) are the only thing keeping me from looking like a cast member from Evil Dead. This mask deflated my puffy red face. The night I used it I crashed (unplanned,) at a friends house and so I did not have the final steps of my routine to seal in all the goodness. I skipped my beloved Manyo Ampoule and my oils... but still my face looked great the next day. It glowed. Now I noticed titanium dioxide down the list... sunscreen in a mask? could the residue be the reason for my glow? A post workout double cleanse and shower left my skin in the same condition so unless it's freaking superglue titanium dioxide... I don't think so. And the softness? Dear Club Clio... Bottle this Essence. I will buy it. Guess what... they make an Aqua version too...
My rating 5/5. Even with the high price point and lack of accessibility this mask impressed me too much.
1- I want both my money and the time I spent using this product back. It should never be used and if I encounter another in my collection it goes to the trash bin.
2- The product is nothing special but not horrible. I would use it again or give it away if I got it as a free sample.
3-The product is nice enough but I would not repurchase because I have many better options. May be better suited for others
4-I really like this and would likely repurchase if I do not find something better.
5-I love this product and it has become a staple in my collection.
So now you know what the numbers mean!
Wanna try it too?
The ONLY place I can find this mask (and I spent hours googling,) is direct from Club Clio on their website. I'm told there are stores in NYC (Club Clio and one other,) that also carry this mask so I'm holding out hope that I can find it somewhere because... Club Clio only sells boxes of 10 online. I really want to try the Aqua. I really loved this mask so what's holding me back... The Masks is available in a pack of 10 for $50 at Club Clio USA and... that's the sale price. Even full priced I think for the occasional treat (or hey if you have the funds regular use,) this mask is worth it. If anyone knows where I could get a single of the Aqua version to try out please please please leave me a comment!
